Posted - 12 dic 2024 : 23:02:17 Hello friends,
my target is to bring the MV Agusta CSL 125 back to road as original as passible.
This scooter came 1962 to Hungary, had some owner. The last owner bought it more than 30 years ago, but he didn’t register it official.
The CSL has the frame no. 24223/9 and the engine no 24237
Is it possible to found out the year of production and the original color ? I scratched at the black painted swingarm and found some blue points.
I´m missing some parts: - Main Stand - Plate Holder - Gear indicator - Manettino
From the gear indicator I have only the cover and this doesn’t have the two holes left and right for switches.
What is the function from this two switches ? Any idea where I could get them, also as a replica ? Mabey one of you have a picture from the gear indicator.
Last question, where do I get a Kit Catena Corona e Pignone
Grazie mille for your support Ciao Johannes

Ciao amici,

Posted - 20 mar 2025 : 22:32:47 Hi I didn't understand everything you wrote, in particular the words <<wheel drive>> seem to have nothing to do with the topic. Did you mean rectifier? In any case, the description of how the switch works is correct. We have only the wiring diagram only of the last page of the manual. https://www.scooterdepoca.com/public/schede/MVAgusta_362_UM.pdf

Posted - 20 mar 2025 : 21:29:29 Hello Iso,
the work is going on. I removed 1,8kg old painting the rest will be done by sand blasting. At the moment I don´t understand the eclectic system.
If the switch in the headlight housing is set to the left, power flows from the alternator to the headlight. If it is set to the right, the parking and tail lights are powered by the battery. If the switch is in the middle, nothing lights up, but the battery is being charged. This requires a wheel drive, which I don't have. This should also be in the headlight housing.
Since we always have to drive with the lights on and the battery needs to be constantly charged, I need to reorganize the wiring diagram.
Electricity isn't my strong suit; perhaps you have a wiring diagram?
Thanks for your assistance Johannes

Posted - 05 mar 2025 : 23:25:52 Hi Thanks for news. As for the color, in Italy it should only be with original paint, regardless of personal taste.
As for the wiring, they were black wires covered with colored fabric. The sheaths were black fabric. For esemple: https://www.discount-autosport.com/it/produit/guaina-ignifuga-in-fibra-di-vetro-nera-600c-lunghezza-5m-diametro-da-6-a-25-mm-per-cablaggio-elettrico/ https://www.perlesandco.it/filo-di-cotone-cerato-mm.-1-5-viola-x-m.-5-p-90287.html https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005001626659553.html

Posted - 05 mar 2025 : 16:11:05 Hello,
I´m back again. We opened the engine and a lot of parts was broken. Like the cylinder, gearbox,...... At the moment is the engine in Italy for overhauling. I´m very happy that I was able to to get a new Cavaletto and found some parts at the Market in Novegro.
A friend of mine helped me to manufacture new screws and brass bushings 202535155518_IMG_9645.jpg
I'm still struggling for the color because I´m not sure if the CSL looks great in "Azzurro Fiera" Azzurro_Fiera.JPG

The was made by Photoshop ta_CSL_2_tuerkis.JPG

Alternativ some blue metallic and also a photoshop picture Indigo_Lightblue.JPG

sta_CSL_2_indigo.JPG

The next is the remove the old painting, the preparation for the chrome parts and to get a wiring plan. Because all the old cables was cut off. So I can´t used the for the new wiring. It would be great If anybody can assist in this topic
thanks for your feedback Johannes |

The swing arm must is parallel. Sorry i'm not photo of shock absorber disassembly. The aluminum part is normal. The crown must be zinc plated. PICT0937.JPG

Some parts must be black zinc plated

Posted - 04 gen 2025 : 23:42:10 Hello friends
First of all, a happy new year, I wish you luck and health
I haven't been lazy the last few days A lot of parts are cleaned and ready for galvanizing or are ready like the rear wheel hub

Still the first sprocket with original color :-) sprocket.JPG

I guess the screw at the swing arm should be parallel ? swing_arm.jpg

One question to the shock absorber ? You have a picture in your threat at page 12 with the fresh galvanized housing. https://www.scooterdepoca.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=50181&whichpage=12
Do you have any pictures of it disassembled? my one looks a little bit strange, especially with the aluminum pice at the end.

Hello,

Color: as you can see, the frame was original blue, than red, followed by black I will return it to the original color color.JPG
Good decision
Citazione:
Exhaust: could it be that the exhaust was modified over the years ? In that version, its impossible to change the GHIERA SCARICO

distinti saluti Johannes
